Source will be exhibiting at the event, aiming to promote careers in engineering and manufacturing. We view apprenticeships as a key part to our business, our toolmakers all started out as apprentices and now design and create the tooling we use to manufacture products for our customers.
Around 20 local businesses will be attending the event in an attempt to encourage young people to look into a career in engineering and manufacturing through an apprentice scheme.
Each company will be offering information and advice on how to apply for an apprenticeship as well as the key skills they will learn and what to expect whilst they are training.
The event will provide individuals with an opportunity to look at the products and services each company offers. It will also allow them to speak with others who trained through the scheme and are now in employment.
Many of the businesses are looking to take on apprentices later this year.
Anybody is welcome to attend the day, whether they are considering applying for an apprenticeship, or investigating their options for the future.
Plymouth Manufacturing Group hope this event will encourage young people to look into apprenticeships as an invaluable route to a career. If proven successful, PMG hope to turn this into an annual event.
